There was a lovely article of only a few pages in a thousand page document, The Proceedings of the Ninth International Congress of Egyptologists; by Alfredo Gennaro.
A man after my own heart, he starts off professionally and then descends into an exasperated rant.
Nevertheless we think it is worthy to give credit to some of the figures we had to face in the preliminary study [on hypothetical construction methods and size of workforce]. At the light of these figures, the current hypotheses on how the Giza Pyramids were built appear to be inconsistent, sometimes completely impracticable.
The congress was in 2004. I'd love to know what Alfredo thinks of 100,000 people living for twenty years on a ramp they can't find. By the end, his Italian blood gets the best of him and his passions are on show. (No idea what my excuse is.)
Figures! We need figures, not the generalities we can read in the <<accepted>> literature.
Take the ramp theory. A ramp one km long to get the top of the Cheops Pyramid would have a slope not comfortable but possible, with a volume of 5,600,000 cubic meters, the double than the pyramid itself (sic): with the difference that the volume, divided in personal loads of 25 litres (50kg at a time) would require 224,000,000 travels to be accumulated and as many to be dismantled, namely 90 years of a continuous one thousand person process.
Yep. The ramp and the good people of rampopolis who called her home are bullshit. Egyptologists just swan past data they don't like and expect you to do the same. Talking to one of the world's leading geneticists over coffee in Oxford last week -a man whose work encompasses the hard science of ancient population movements- he said "it's a Humanities subject. It's not a science." There you go. The view from Oxford University.
Unfortunately for us all, it's a Humanities subject that, unlike the floral imagery in Jane Austen, has far-reaching spiritual and ontological implications. So we can't let it off the hook.
And Robert Bauval isn't going to. As promised, here's an update from his Facestalk account.
I have this morning re-activated temporarily my Facebook to make the following annoucement.
I will be travelling shortly to Egypt, Cairo. My intention is to deliver part of the yet-to-be published manuscript of 'Secret Chamber Revisted!' and several DVD-ROM discs to the various parties in Egypt investigating the activities that took place on the Giza Plateau from 1977 to the present, with particular reference to Zahi Hawass's tenure from 1977-2011. As a precaution should something happen to me in Europe or in Egypt. I have made copies of the manuscript and DVD-ROM discs and safely lodged them with several trusted parties.
Whilst in Egypt I propose to hold meetings and interviews with various parties implicated in this affair, including the present Interim Minister of Antiquities and the Director General of the Giza Pyramids, as well as the head of the Security Police at Giza. Also each evening at the time of 7 p.m. CET I intend to report LIVE on Capricorn Radio on the James Swagger show.
The 4 DVD-ROM discs in question are described as follows:
DVD Dsc 1: 1977-8 'Sphinx Project' funded by the Edgar Cayce Foundation (ECF) and fronted by the Stamford Research Institute (SRI). 10 mins footage (taken from 6 hours shot on 8 mm film) showing Zahi Hawass, Mark Lehner and Hugh Lynn Cayce using a 100 HP Oil power drilling Rig to piece 8 boreholes under and around the Sphinx. The DVD-Rom disc also show with over voice Mr. Cayce explaning that the ECF/SRI, as well as an American drilling contractor called Recovery Syetem International (RSI) owned by Mr. Ken Wakefied, were desperately trying to find the 'Hall of Records'.
DVD Disc 2: 1996-8 Schor Foundation expedition at the Giza Plateau (senior life member of the ECF). 90 mins footage filmed by Mr. Boris Said of Magic Eye Productions of the whole expedition highlights. The team 'discovers' the possible entrance of the 'Hall of Records' inside the 30 m deep 'Tomb of Osiris'/Water shaft, and undertake radar experiments in the underground water logged chamber, and also in the upper Relief Chambers inside the Great Pyramid. Zahi Hawass also features in the film.
DVD Disc 3: 1997 exploration of the Relief Chambers in the Great Pyramid during the Schor expedition. 30 mins of footage showing Boris Said and his American filming crew climbing into the Relief Chambers, and 'inspecting' the graffiti and cartouche with an SCA inspector.
DVD Disc 4: 1996 Promo 'Secret Chamber' by Boris Said made for Schor Foundation. 7 mins footage showing Zahi Hawass inside a 'secret tunnel' under the Sphinx telling the camera that this tunnel will be opened soon. The 'opening' is announced to be 'live' on TV to prove the Cayce predictions of a 'Hall of Records' under the Sphinx.
Speaking of sciences hard and soft, if you think the existence of artificial structures under the Sphinx is soft, you are wrong. Here is tenured geologist Dr Schoch's seismic field report.
It goes without saying that I don't think there is a hall of Atlantean records down there. But given the geological age of the Sphinx and its temple, it may turn out to be a pretty decent metaphor.
Can we say that it's also the reason why this stuff never came to light. (Although I suspect Hawass's bizarre, quasi-Masonic, millenium New Years plans may have included their unveiling. Guess there was a shadow regime change before they could be fulfilled.)
Because, let's be clear here. Robert Bauval has video of the lunatic in the hat inside chambers he says don't exist. If this turns out to be the true -and I believe it is- then Egyptology is fucked. It will mean these former Cayce believers have sat on the most important Egyptological discovery ever for twenty years... at someone's behest. This moves from the unprofessional into the criminal.
In the following interview with James Swagger from a couple of days ago, Bauval tells this exact story, as well as providing an update on the Germans and the cartouche affair. Spoiler: He has seen photos from the official inspectors showing that the cartouche is completely undamaged. The interpol case has been withdrawn. Hawass hasn't apologised for his 'Belgian Jew' comment or lying to the international press. In fact, he's now travelling the world with the tourism minister, telling everyone to come to Egypt. Simon Wiesenthal must be spinning in his grave!
Don't expect all those Belgian Jews in the great museums and universities of the world to do anything about this. The tide is going out and they're swimming naked.
