A few nights ago, the lovely Peter and the lovelier Alkistis from Scarlet Imprint sat down with me in London for a chat.
We covered eschatology, surfing, post-imperialism, the role of death in magic, art, dance and, of course the role of the book in magic... both its positive and negative one.
And speaking of publishing, I didn't actually realise this until we went out for Thai afterward or else I would have mentioned it in the audio, but The Testament of Cyprian the Mage is out in Rouge edition. It's come up a few times in different conversations so that's my PSA. Being helpful feels good... and a little unfamiliar.
A continuing thread through my discussion with Peter and Alkistis is whether it is possible to extract oneself from the monoculture, why so few people do it and the role of subversion at the heart of magic. It seems to be the ontological matter of the age.
Good frikking stuff.
