Funnily enough... I briefly thought about suggesting we do this via Periscope or Blab but it just seemed so... ughh... so social media webinar. No, what could be more sedate and stable than a boring Google Hangout?
Turns out the answer to that is literally anything.
First, the Hangout had a minute delay and reverb. Then the next room kept switching from public to private, even after I had manually switched it back. Then Jason couldn't hear my audio. Then he could hear my audio in his phone but his video wouldn't work. Honestly, Hangouts doesn't even work right when you are Hangout-ing with Google.
So we fire up Skype. It worked perfectly the first time and there you have it. Score one for the Swedes.
Apologies we didn't get to do the live questions thing but thank you to everyone who was patient and accommodating with leaving questions on the event page, in the Facebook group and via twitter. Just glad I recorded the ones sent through in advance in an old-timey book thing.
The chat, in the end, was very worthwhile. But I totally know how Dr Farrell feels every second Friday dealing with the unruliness of Google video things. You'd assume the owners of YouTube would have that on lock. Anyway, find the chat right here:
Guess the next time we do something like this it will be on some kind of trendy douche platform like Blab.
